The cockpit is a block with the simulated wiring, in which is inserted the control unit, seat and pedals. The detailed of the buttons and wiring is very poor, so the first thing I do is look for reference photos on the net and remove all simulated wiring, switches and connectors, which will be replaced with other more detailed.

Using the router I do 0.3mm drills where must be placed each of the buttons or switches, and I do the two side holes of 1.6 mm. in which two connectors are inserted.

After sanding the inside, I begin to put the carbon fiber in this case use a superfine Hobby Design (ref. HD04-0007) that matches the real car perfectly.

For square switches, I do some resin parts using the milling machine.
For connector I use the Top Studio TD23011 with reference for the control unit, and TD23049 for the others. I must thank SpotModel for helping me choose the right ones.

I make a small copper washers for the side connectors that inserted in a tube of 1.6 mm. to make the “bottles” where connectors are placed. And after a lot of patience to assemble all the push buttons and connectors, the harness is mounted on the seat …

Finding myself with a new and unpleasant surprise by mistake Le Mans Miniatures kit brings a four-point harness anchor, when the car was riding a six-point harness anchor, so I modified it so that we can get two new anchor points.

Once the body is ready, I give it a coat of Tamiya white primer to make the surfaces smooth, and sand gently with fine grit sandpaper to remove any defects that remain on surfaces and apply a coat of black primer Alclad 2 (ALC 305) before applying the silver reference Zero Paints ZP-1116 Audi R8-R10 TDi Silver Le Mans.

Regarding Zero Paints paint is awesome, covers very well even pulling very thin layers with the airbrush at an average pressure and once dry is very smooth and hard. No grain can be seen with the naked eye, which is appreciated in these metallic for scale reproductions.

The taillights are a photogravures.
To give more realism you make copies with transparent glue Oyumaru.
Dried copies are clear, painting them with transparent red paint.

Prepare the rear spoiler that will place before giving the final hand of primer.

It consists of several photoetched parts and resin parts forming the wing, which already have “lightened” opening the gap between wings.

Several photoetched parts to be bent to set the two side panels and sanded center supports, so once folded, solder edges of the pieces, and sanded to make them uniform.

Wing mounted on the supports and … surprise, the Wing is too long, so I have to cut to two millimeters each side of the wing and reassemble them into brackets.

Once set, all pieces mounted and ready for primer.

The vehicle has 6 inlets and 2 outlets, which in the model are blinded, so I proceed to open them. Initially I ask myself whether making photoetched parts to replace or use cutter and sandpaper to open and decided to use cutter and sandpaper … which was a mistake, because in making photoetched parts, open holes and mount opening took about 4 hours …. And open with cutter and sandpaper took me 3 days.
